Why Exercise Intensity Matters for Longevity | CrossFit for Health 2024
I recently had the privilege of presenting at the CrossFit Health Summit, where I described a constellation of factors that influence longevity - with special emphasis on the pivotal role of vigorous exercise throughout life.
Given that CrossFit has become almost synonymous with the type of intense, demanding workouts that are central to our discussion, the venue provided an ideal audience for exploring the profound impacts of this fitness approach.

So he says no correlation between Alzheimer’s and statins and even a benefit to Alzheimer’s, but if certain blood markers are high there could be a correlation? Sounds like the science is not settled. My mom just started a statin and now has muscle pain but doctor won’t back down and she worships her doctors. Not to mention her dad had severe Alzheimer’s and she does have some memory loss at 76. So frustrating to watch. And her LDL was only 100 when doc insisted on statin 🤯🤯🤯

I think tribe survival had a say in aging. A tribe with a lot of unproductive elderly had more resource struggles that brought down the rest of the tribe. Thus, the evolution of hard-coding. That of course is ancient history. Or is it?

Serendipity! I'd fallen asleep while watching videos and awoke to your post. Once out of my fog (age 71) I was captivated and overloaded by the amount of information being put forth. I have been so confounded by the "meal/workout/foods" solution that it has quickly proven to be more of a mental issue that it is harder for my mind to make by work go workout - to the point of interment lapses of inactivity. It is such a strain to get "good" information that it can be nullifying to seek any at all, the more you find out, the less you know. Thanks for posting. I will have to watch this through a couple of times.

Regarding muscle preservation & RDA for protein intake. Does body fat come into play? If 2 people have the same amount of muscle, but one weight 30 lbs. more because of additional adipose tissue, does the person who weighs more still need to consume additional protein?

Genuine question- at what point after 3 years of wearing a CGM (in a person who is not prediabetic or diabetic) is the continual reference multiple times a day for 3 endless years to your daily glucose actually becoming an unhealthy mental fixation + type of mental and psychological obsession? Would not a once or twice a year wearing be healthier? I think we need especially with females to be careful how these tools are used and aim for people to create sustainable health habits- knowing in general how most of their regular foods affect them and to become confident and independent not require continous monitoring. Thoughts?

Wile this is a excellent video it was made 3 years ago and water is an expensive commodity now….many sites say that if you are buying really high quality organic seeds and beans and I won’t mention names you do not have to sterilize them…grapefruit seed extract or even H2 O2 can be used but if your water is very expensive and you have a product that has been quality checked you don ‘t need to do the sterilization and use so much water….you can if you feel better and can affrord all that water but it is not necessary …I do not…..and I am fine……thank you..

I enjoy this video. There has been a lot of debate on whether we humans can live indefinitely or for 120 to 125 years only. Before the last century it was thought that we can live for up to a century. However, I say we can live for 120 to 125 years - I myself want to live to be 120, which I turn in 2112. It's inevitable that we will live for 800 years someday, like I saw on a good website years ago. It's premature for us humans to die before age 100. So let's do so much in our lives, and life is wonderful so let's extend it.
